The wine that made the estate's name, from a single parcel at the top of the Saint-Andelain hill, vines 60 to 90 years old on the deepest flint soils in the appellation, giving Silex its name. Only around 8,000 bottles are made each year. Immense mineral precision and stony tension run through the fruit, with a long, energetic finish. Widely regarded as the benchmark, the closest thing Pouilly-Fume has to a Grand Cru.
