Auckland's Herne Bay along with the surrounding neighbourhoods of St Mary's Bay, Ponsonby and Freemans Bay have a strong sense of community and our Glengarry Jervois Road and Dida's Wine & Tapas Lounge and, nestled side by side, reflects this. Housed in the original building where grandfather Jakicevich started his grocery store over 60 years ago, we are proud to say we're still here and part of the community. It's still a firm favourite with not only the Herne Bay locals, but with many residents from the surrounding areas as well as those heading home from the CBD towards the North Shore. Join us for a special evening hosted by Jean-Benoit, visiting us from France, as he takes us through a line-up spanning Champagne, Burgundy, Chablis and whisky.
We’ll start with a welcome glass of J.B. Hery Signature Blanc de Blancs, before moving through Champagne Moutard and two expressions of Cremant de Bourgogne. From there, we head to Chablis, tasting from Petit Chablis through to Premier Cru Fourchaume.
To finish, we’ll change gears with Moutard Fume Brasserie du Der Whisky.
Vouvray is one of the great homes of Chenin Blanc, capable of everything from bright sparkling wine and bone dry whites through to beautifully mature, richly sweet styles
Join us for a tasting through the wines of Domaine Bourillon Dorléans, a family estate with deep roots in Vouvray and cellars carved into limestone.
Across seven wines, we will follow Chenin through different styles and stages of development, beginning with sparkling Vouvray before moving through dry wines, the serious L’Oppidum 2020, and the beautifully mature Saint Martin 2009. We then move into the softer side of Vouvray with La Bourdonnerie Demi Sec, La Levrière, before finishing with the concentrated La Coulée d’Or 2022.
