Gimblett Gravels Tempranillo

Tempranillo is a red grape variety grown in many parts of Spain. It is best known in the production of the famous wines of Rioja. It is also found in Portugal under the synonym Tinta Roriz where it is one of the main grape varieties of Port and Douro dry red wine styles. The wine shows attractive brambly, blackberry fruits with spicy, exotic complexity. The palate is rich and textural with blackberry, liquorice, chocolate and vanilla flavours and supple tannins, complimented by refreshing acidity. This wine can be enjoyed in its youth, but it will age well for at least ten years. Red meat or pork would be an ideal match as well as traditional Tapas-style dishes.
