In December we paid tribute to some of the wonderful women who contributed so much to making Champagne what it is today. The overwhelming response has inspired this follow up tasting to open Takapuna Wineclubs for the year. Our theme tonight will be of a rather more masculine bent, celebrating the lives and bubbly related deeds of some of Champagne's leading men. The lineup of course will be a special one to match, ranging from bone dry to slightly sweet, and the fizzy tours de force of such luminaries as Champagne Charlie, Michel Drappier, Louis Roederer and perhaps even touching upon a certain monk.
