Piemonte Doc Barbera Large

The estate's top selection of Barbera, made only in exceptional vintages. Ruby garnet red, very intense with slightly purple hints, broad and intense on the nose with chocolate, spice, blackberry and dog rose. Full bodied and harmonious, with balanced tannins and a sweet, persistent finish. Grapes are handpicked in mid October from a south south west facing vineyard, then fermented on skins with daily pumpovers before around ten days of extended maceration. The wine ages roughly 18 months in barriques, then rests a further six months in bottle before release, an ageing regime built to match this cuvee's concentration.
