A rare still Pinot Noir from Domaine Alexandre Bonnet in Les Riceys, recalling a time when the red wines of this village were prized alongside the finest of Burgundy. Grown on old south facing vines and matured mainly in used oak, it opens with fresh Burlat cherry, a hint of smoke, peony and red berries. The palate is lively, pure and long, with fine, fresh tannins. Lovely with a leg of lamb or beef bourguignon, and delicious young or with time in the cellar.
