A rare still rose from Domaine Alexandre Bonnet in Les Riceys, made from Pinot Noir vines planted in 1974 on iron tinged limestone. Partly matured in Burgundy barrels before two years in bottle, it offers delicate aromas of wild strawberry, peony, violet and candied citrus, opening to tangy red fruit and spice. The palate is supple with good volume, red fruit and sweet spice, finishing lively and fresh. Lovely with game birds, pate en croute or tournedos Rossini, and will reward cellaring for 8 to 10 years.
