Ladoix 1er Cru La Corvee

Between Aloxe Corton and Premeaux Prissey, Ladoixs vineyards, predominantly on the lower slopes of the hill of Corton, signal the beginning of the Cte de Beaune; in the mid-slope, where La Corve lies, the soils are a mix of iron rich calcareous soils and limestone, renowned for producing charismatic reds. 30% new oak, no whole bunch. Deep yet limpid ruby red with a nose of tight floral fruit, pretty but not massive, stony with some mulberry notes leading to a fresh, floral, dark fruited palate and finely structured tannins, chewy and toasty, dense and floral and going to a really long, spiced finish. Fabulous. Drink 2025 - 2029+
