Chateau Bourgneuf 2017, Pomerol, is a blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc, grown on gravelly clay with an iron rich subsoil and aged 12 to 14 months in French oak, 35% new. The nose shows ripe red fruit with a hint of toasted oak, leading to a concentrated, powerful, warm palate framed by oak tannins. Its ripe fruit makes it approachable young, though a few years in the cellar will reward those who wait.
