Pinot Noir Selection Pomone

A Bourgogne that drinks well above its rank. Selection Pomone is only made in strong vintages, blending fruit from old vines, over 70 years, on a favoured stretch just outside the Pommard village boundary with a smaller portion of declassified Premier Cru, drawn from Pommard Noizons and Ladoix. Floral and spiced on the nose, with dried cranberry, black cherry and a savoury black tea note. The wine is aged in 600 litre barrels rather than the estate's usual smaller barrique, a gentler format that builds texture without adding heavy oak character, giving real elegance, density and length for a regional appellation.
