New Bordeaux arrival
Named for the Chapelle de la Trinite, the limestone chapel at the very centre of Saint-Emilion, built over the grotto where the monk Emilion lived as a hermit and the first vines of the town were planted in Roman times. Dark garnet red with a rich, flattering nose, an ample attack and a smooth, mocha edged mouth with a soft finish. Blend of roughly 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc, fermented 20 days then aged six months in steel with a small portion in barrel. Good with game, red meat, chicken, turkey and soft or hard cheeses.
