The Waihopai Valley is one of the sunniest and driest areas of New Zealand. In true pioneering spirit of the wine-growing subregion, Misty Cove vintner, Andrew Bailey has ventured once again into innovative territory by producing an extraordinarily elegant white blend that stands out above the rest. Hand harvested in small ripe parcels, each variety was gently crushed and allowed to naturally evolve with the Gruner Veltliner, and Riesling fermented in new Acacia puncheons. The three wines were then blended together and kept on the original Gewurztraminer yeast lees enhancing palate weight and giving the wine a fleshy texture, leading to a super lingering finish.The limited release project pays homage to this beautiful part of the world and involves our philosophy of making the best white blend possible each vintage, which means the unique blend will never be the same.
