Chateau Haut Couloumey carries a rich history. King Louis XIV used to hunt in their forests. It was replanted in 1998 and now has close to four hectares of vineyard in one of the oldest ter-roirs in Bordeaux. Harvesting is done manually and herbicides are shunned. Merlot-dominant, earthy on the nose, with plum, currant, a touch of cinnamon and oak on the palate. A freshly elegant Médoc that’s good drinking right now.
