Merlot fruit is handpicked in the cool of the morning to retain the fresh flavours. The grapes are pressed then cool fermented. 10% of the fruit was crushed and macerated for 12 hours before free run juice was transferred to oak barrels for fermentation. The barrel portion brings complexity and the gorgeous pink hue once combined with the rest of the wine.
A food friendly wine with enticing strawberry and spring blossom aromas supported by subtle spicy notes. The palate is wonderfully fresh and tasty, the well-defined soft summer fruit flavours complemented by a creamy, textural mouthfeel.
