Hand harvested from low-cropping vines, with wild fermentation and a light hand during the winemaking process. Fragrant aromatics of stonefruit and citrus are embellished by marzipan and mealy notes, the palate dominated by concentrated fruit flavours swathed in silky textures, some balancing acidity and a long, elegant finish. Made only in the very best years, this is Church Road’s top Chardonnay, named after legendary winemaker Tom McDonald in a nod to the history and pedigree that lives on in this great Hawkes Bay winery.
