Amphora Gamay Noir

This Gamay Noir is from the exceptional Two Terraces vineyard in the Mangatahi Terraces, Hawkes Bay. Ian and Linda Quinn are conscientious and detail oriented growers with the quality of their grapes being exceptional. I drew inspiration from my time working in Beaujolais and made this wine as a blend of the different clones, as they were were picked almost two weeks apart. The vinification was 100% carbonic maceration (whole grape bunches, no juice) for two weeks. The wine was pressed off into Tinajas (amphora) for ageing.
