A huge thank you to all that attended the Maverick tasting here at Hutt Road. I knew that I was going to like these wines from the feature that we ran in the April wine-letter, but I was unprepared for just how much I enjoyed them. As with all bio-dynamic wines there is a vibrancy that runs through everyone of them. The lack of new oak was also a pleasant surprise and all of the wines had a subtlety and elegance that we do not associate with Australian Shiraz and Grenache. Ronald was a skilled orator and a humble caretaker of his vines. It was a lovely evening and we were all left with a smile afterward
