TORTOCHOT
"Domaine Tortochot is a lovely property in Gevrey and was rejuvenated by Chantal Tortochot who took over the estate from her father in the late 1990s. The family have been in Gevrey for many generations, but it was not until Chantal took over that the wines really showed their potential.
Chantal is a very skilled winemaker who produces wines that beautifully represent the terroir, whilst being accessible and fruit-driven. Her wines are impressive and the quality just gets better and better each vintage. Definitely a producer to start following. We are lucky enough to have allocations of the jewels in their range - Lavaux St-Jacques, Champeaux and Chambertin itself". Liz Wheadon

HIDDEN GEMS OF BOURGOGNE: DOMAINE PARENT, BELLENE & TORTOCHOT
Ask the globe’s finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producers where they draw their inspiration from, and many will tell you, ‘Burgundy.’ Upon the aptly named ‘golden slopes,’ the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, Burgundy’s greatest wines are produced. The classification system was originally established by the church, the best grapes defined as from the top of the slopes, with fruit for the villagers predictably down the hill a bit. Inheritance laws have seen the vineyards divided into smaller and smaller family parcels, and within a sea of small producers, it is not uncommon for a single vineyard to have numerous owners. Join us for an evening of focus on those three incredible independent producers and their wines.
