SAMUEL ADAMS BEER

Samuel Adams, like their beers, is a result of the combination of history, tradition, human chemistry, creativity and wonder. At Samuel Adams they believe in being free to explore and create, and that’s their key to producing remarkable, flavourful beers.

The Samual Adams story began in the kitchen. Founder and brewer, Jim Koch, is a sixth generation brewer. Growing up, his old family beer archives were in an old trunk and hadn’t been used since the Louis Koch brewery closed during the Prohibition. Jim’s father, Charles, thought Jim was crazy when he picked up his favourite family recipe and went around to bars and restaurants trying to sell it.

Jim chose the brand name Samuel Adams after a Boston revolutionary thinking who fought for independence and also a brewer who inherited the craft from his father.
