GOLDWATER

GOLDWATER ESTATE was established in 1978 by Kim and Jeanette Goldwater when they pioneered winegrowing on Waiheke Island. Using traditional winemaking techniques, together with modern technology and the finest French oak, the Goldwaters produce hand-crafted wines with vibrant fruit characters, harmonious balance, elegant structure and exceptional concentration. Having achieved world-wide recognition for their impressive Waiheke Island wines, the Goldwaters began making wine in Marlborough in 1992 and have become equally well known for their outstanding Sauvignon Blanc and Roseland Chardonnay from this region. Goldwater’s Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend was their first and most acclaimed wine, with the 20th anniversary release last year finally seeing it being given its own name - "Goldie". To celebrate winewriters were invited to taste the 20 vintages, with the lastest release - the 2002 vintage, being named in the top two in the line up by Joelle Thomson, (Viva, NZ Herald, 13 April, 2005). The 20th anniversary wine "Goldie" has been released in special wooden cases, including a signed letter from Kim Goldwater.
