Goldie is a boutique vineyard located on Waiheke Island, just out of Auckland. At Goldie, Kim and Jeanette Goldwater make wines following their philosophy of nurturing and improving their vineyards. The Goldie team practice and believe in sustainable winemaking – sustainable environmentally, economically and emotionally. Goldie’s vineyard has been part of the Sustainable Winegrowing programme since it was introduced in 1998. Goldie is currently by the University of Auckland. The University and the Goldwater family aim to establish a world-class wine education facility at Goldie, where students are ‘hardwired to the needs to the wine industry’.
