EL ESCOCES VOLANTE

The man behind El Escocés Volante - 'The Flying Scot'- is Norrell Robertson MW, who moved to Spain with his family 2003 and his first wine was released the following year. El Escocés Volante is based in the Aragon, a Spanish region dedicated to making high quality wines, particularly with the native Garnacha grapes. Norrell has worked vintages in Chianti in Italy, Portugal, Australia, France and Chile. He became a Master of Wine in 2000. In 2002, Norrell moved to New Zealand to study Viticulture and Oenology. The winemaking philosophy at El Escocés Volante is "based on maximising the potential of the fantastic raw material we have available in Spain to produce intense wines with a sense of place."
