ANDRE JACQUART
Headed up today by the 5th generation of the Jacquart family, the name Andre Jacquart comes from Marie's maternal grandfather's name. Marie and her brother took over running the family property in 2004 and at that time started to implement a number of changes, which included increasing the ageing of the wines.
The non-vintage see a minimum of 5 years, and vintage are aged over 7 years, well above the legal requirements. They also introduced oak fermentation in complete contrast to their parents 100% stainless steel approach. Not content with just two steps to increase quality, they also stopped doing malolactic fermentation and reduced the dosage to half of what it was. Located in the villages of Les Mesnil and Vertus, production is Chardonnay-based, with a small amount of Pinot Noir grown for their Rosé production.
