VIRTUAL TASTING | BURGUNDY DOMAINE PARENT - POMMARD 2015 V 2016
Enjoy this Pinot Noir tasting from the comfort of your own lounge, anywhere in New Zealand. Domaine Parent is located in the famed Burgundian village of Pommard, in the heart of the Côte d’Or. Today it is run by the 12th generation, Anne and Catherine Parent, perpetuating a family tradition dating back to the 17th century. There are no Grand Cru vineyards in the village, but it does contain some of the finest Premier Cru in the region, including Les Epenots, which is currently under consideration to be upgraded. Tonight, our Fine Wine Manager, Regan McCaffery, will lead us through the history of the village and the Domaine. We will be tasting four different Premier Cru vineyards and comparing the 2015 and 2016 side by side. Two of the greatest vintages of all time in Burgundy. We will be tasting Domaine Parent Pommard 1er Cru Les Chanlins 2015/2016, Pommard 1er Cru Les Argillieres 2015/2016, Pommard 1er Cru Les Chaponnieres 2015/2016 from 75 year old vines, and finally the legendary Pommard 1er Cru Les Epenots 2015/2016.
Your ticket includes 50ml sample bottles of all wines. To ensure these samples reach you in safe and optimum condition, we use the Coravin system to check for cork taint, the tasting bottles then filled under a veil of argon gas to minimise contact with air and prevent oxidation. The team will be using applicable protective practises when preparing the samples. They will then be dispatched to you before the tasting on Wednesday evening. These are designed for short term storage, not for keeping in your cellar. Details will be included explaining how to set up your computer/phone/iPad to join the tasting, conducted via Zoom. If you cannot join the live tasting, watch the replay at your leisure.
