No one knows the Barossa Valley better than Stuart Blackwell, who has been making wine there for over 40 years. Now senior winemaker of St Hallett, he has a deep understanding of the rich tapestry of site and climatic variances in the Barossa, but also an appreciation of the importance of both dedicated growers and ‘old vine’Shiraz. Tonight he will be leading us through a fantastic tasting, of some of the greatest wines of the region. We will of course be trying the St Hallet Blackwell 2014, as well as his very special Old Block Shiraz 2013. There will be legends like Jim Barry Armagh 2012 and the beautiful Rockford Basket Press Shiraz 2013. We'll see the powerful side of the Barossa with Kaesler Old Bastard Shiraz 2013, and the elegant aspect from Grant Burge Meschach 2009 and Yalumba Octavius 2013. Finishing off with one of Australia's finest drops, Torbreck Run Rig 2012.
