Bourbon is America’s native spirit, made from a mash of at least 51% corn, rounded out with rye or wheat and malted barley, then aged in new charred oak barrels. It is often said to take its name from Bourbon County in Kentucky, still the heartland of production today. From approachable favourites like Buffalo Trace and Maker’s Mark to small batch gems from Woodford Reserve and rare limited releases from Kentucky Owl, the breadth of flavours, styles and prices may surprise you.
