DOM PERIGNON

Louis XIV was born in August 1638, Benedictine monk, Dom Pérignon, in December 1638. They both died in September 1715. The Benedictine monk from the modest abbey of Hautvillers never met the all-powerful Sun King. Yet the wine of Père Pérignon, as it was then known, found its way to the court and made him famous.

The core of the blend are the eight historical Grands Crus, Aÿ, Bouzy, Verzenay, Mailly, Chouilly, Cramant, Avize and Le Mesnil, plus the legendary Hautvillers Premier Cru. Dom Pérignon also has the unique privilege of being able to select grapes from all 17 Grands Crus in Champagne. giving birth to Dom Pérignon's highly intriguing contrast".

TASTINGS & EVENTS YOU MIGHT LIKE

ANNUAL PRESTIGE CUVEE CHAMPAGNE TASTING

This is always our most highly anticipated tasting of the year, the chance to dress up and try the world's greatest Champagnes head to head! Prestige or Luxury Cuvee's are the finest blend a House can make, no expense spared with every aspect tended by hand. We have another spectacular line-up planned this year with lots of new wines. Hosted by our Champagne expert and Fine Wine Manager Regan McCaffery, he will take us through the history and stories of these incredible bottles. We will be starting with the Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires 2004, the first time this has been released since the legendary 1995. Then two of the most wanted new releases from the 2008 vintage, one of the greatest in the last 20 years. Louis Roederer Cristal 2008 and Dom Perignon 2008 Continuum edition. Then we will taste the wonderful but relatively unknown Mumm Cuvée R. Lalou 2002. Next a match up many have wanted to see, Krug Grande Cuvée v Henri Giraud MV10. We will finish with two incredible single variety bottles from pre-phylloxera vines. Tarlant La Vigne d'Antan Blanc de Blancs 2002, and a once in a lifetime chance to taste one of the rarest and greatest of all Champagnes, the mythical Bollinger Vielles Vignes Francaises Blanc de Noirs 2006. This wonderful event sells out every year so don't delay!
