E GUIGAL

The Guigal domain was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis, a small, ancient village at the heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. It was in 1961 that the still very young Marcel Guigal took over management of the domain from his father, who was struck by a temporary but total blindness. Philippe his son, was born in 1975 and today he is the domain's oenologist. Together with his wife Eve, they represent the third generation of a family's life long endeavour to be at the service of the greatest wines of the Rhône valley.

Their hard work and perseverence paid dividends, which was demonstrated by the purchase of the Vidal-Fleury establishment at the beginning of the '80s and ten years later, the acquisition of the famous Château d'Ampuis. Today the family continues to select, mature and sell, with the same spirit of passion and enthusiasm, the greatest appellations of the Rhône valley.
