Sebastiani was established in Sonoma County in the early 1900s by Samuele Sebastiani who immigrated from Tuscany, Italy. During the Prohibtion, Sebastiani made small amounts of sacramental and medicinal wines. Following Samuele's death, his son, August and his wife began to expand the winery's facilities and products.
Today, Sebastiani is owned by Bill Foley who also made a few changes to the winery when he purchased it in 2008. Sebastiani currently primarily focuses on single-vineyard and sub-appellation wines.
