Giaconda was established in the early 1980s by Rick Kinzbrunner, a mechanical engineer with an interest in wine. Vines were first planted in 1982. In 1987 Giaconda released their first wines, a 1986 Chardonnay and a 1985 Cabernet blend.
Today, Giaconda is devoted to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz. It has 4 hectares of vines and produces around 30,000 bottles of wine annually.
