Californian Robert Mondavi is so well-repected that the French bestowed upon him the National Order of the Legion of Honour, Mondavi having single-handedly put California on the global wine map. Planting the fi rst Californian vines in 1966, Mondavi eventually combined forces with iconic Frenchman Baron Philippe de Rothschild to produce the legendary Opus One.

The Private Selection, founded in 1994 by Robert Mondavi, was created to showcase the premium quality and varied character of Central Coast grapes. The range produced today ranges from light and fresh to full-bodied and bold. Approachable pure fruit flavours and exceptional balance that can only this exceptional with growing region can produce!

Rick Boyer

Building upon Mr Mondavi’s vision, Rick Boyer leads a team of winemakers and growers. To this day, the aim has remained unchanged, to produce elegant, approachable wines of great fruit character from California’s Central Coast. Boyer relishes the daily challenge in plying his craft of winemaking in this unique region.
