Germany's Schloss Vollrads is one of the world's oldest wineries. They produce Riesling in its myriad forms and nothing else. Their wines are elegant and complex, drawing upon a profound understanding of the variety. Sptlese means late harvest. A rich, concentrated wine that is, nonetheless, refreshingly light and delicate in character, the generous apricot characters balanced by a lightly bright, lemon-edged acidity, delivering a finish that is remarkably dry rather than sweet.
