An Update for Our Glengarry Community and a Thank You
As we all take another step into uncharted waters (or perhaps that’s backing out of uncharted waters. Who can tell?), we wanted to extend you our thanks. We very much appreciate your ongoing support. Just as New Zealand has its team of five million, we have our own crew of loyal regulars that constitute our community. From today 14th May the doors of our stores will reopen. While there will be much in place that feels comfortably familiar, it’s still far from business as usual. With that in mind we wanted to update you on the processes we have in place to keep everybody safe.
Our stores have been cleaned used Backtakleen, a process that kills 99.9% of bacteria, mould and fungi. Safe and environmentally friendly, it assists in reducing the spread of influenza strains such as H1N1, SARS and the common cold. A video of Backtakleen being applied in one of our stores can be found here. To augment this, we have increased our regular cleaning schedules, with Zoono hand sanitiser and surface spray used in all sites.
Our stores have been laid out to ensure that customers can practise social distancing while inside and our teams will be ensuring that the highest standards of personal hygiene are followed, with safety officers in each site checking on staff health. As you enter the store there’s a register that we ask that you complete, as you move through the store please keep your distance from other shoppers. When it’s time to pay, we have payWave available on all of our terminals. Any staff member who is unwell will not be at work, and should you yourself be unwell, we ask that you don’t visit; just purchase online and we’ll deliver your order to you.
Shop your way: For those of you intending to come instore, we very much look forward to seeing you. We do understand that this scenario isn’t going to work for everyone, and we’ll be continuing to offer our new range of online services. For us, it’s all about enabling you to shop in the way that best suits you, whether that’s coming instore to see us, utilising our Click & Collect facility (contactless continues to be offered), availing yourself of our same-day delivery to Central Auckland and Wellington or ordering your delivery via courier. You are welcome to place your order instore, via email, phone or online.
Plenty of change for all of us over the last month or two. What hasn’t changed is our extensive range of high-quality wine, beer and spirits and our commitment to excellent service via our enthusiastic staff. With all that unrelenting isolation, they’re hanging out to catch up!
Tastings & Events have changed for the immediate future, with everything now inhabiting a virtual space. There are short live tastings conducted every weekday, along with more occasional in-depth, full-length tastings where you receive a tasting mat, 50ml bottles of all the wines and a link to join the event. This coming Saturday, May 16, we’re hosting a virtual World Whisky Day. You’ll find all the details online. We’ve been doing high-quality wine education for decades and we’re determined that this won’t change.
SHOP LOCAL AND SUPPORT LOCAL
We’d like to ask that you Shop Local and Support Local. Glengarry has been a family-run business since 1945, and like many in New Zealand, we are navigating these new waters learning as we go, aiming to be here for a long time. To achieve that, we could use your support
Who will deliver my order?
Our delivery partner is NZ Post, they are an essential service and are delivering during through all Alert Levels. All deliveries will be contactless. As well as NZ Post, as we are in Level 2, we are also delivering ourselves via Glengarry Vans. You can also choose to Click & Collect with contactless available as well as the option to come in store.
What does contactless delivery mean?
With everyone’s safety in mind, when delivering your order, the courier will knock first, step back two metres from the door (or whatever distance is safe) and wait for you to answer. At that point we’ll ask for your name to confirm the order. Social distancing is the strategy behind this procedure. Your tracking link will update with delivery confirmation
We're Busy Processing within 24 hours, your Delivery will be with your shortly
These are surreal times; we’re all of us navigating our way through uncharted territory. Like everyone endeavouring to supply you with goods, we’re having to come up with new ways of working. Not everything has been straightforward. Our prime agenda remains the safety and security of all our people who are working so hard to process your orders. Consequently we’ve spent whatever time it takes to make sure both our team and our systems are robustly protected, meaning of course that so are you. Our new processes are picking up speed as we manage to clear the significant backlog of orders created while uncertainty reigned around who could do what and how they could do it, and every day we become more streamlined as our new systems bed in. Our delivery partners have been nothing short of amazing. We ask you all for your understanding as we work to get your orders to you in the quickest time possible.
Why Certain Products Are Unavailable
Firstly, this: we currently have a massive array of high-quality wines, beers and spirits still at your disposal. However, these are not normal times, and because so much of the supply chain is shut down on a global level and restrictions are in place, we do not have access to every product that we normally would. When you go onto our website, you’ll find that some of the products there are, for now, unavailable for purchase; but for every wine, beer or spirit that you can’t access, we have alternatives. And they’re good ones! If your favourite tipple can’t be purchased, we encourage you to dig a little deeper until you find an option that works for you. Don’t hesitate to reach out for any assistance; our sales team are online via LiveChat and firstname.lastname@example.org
