TONO

Tono (TonYo) is the familiar or nickname of Antonio in Spanish. Tono wines are a modern take on Spanish winemaking heritage, grown in the sunny Hawke's Bay. Wines that are fun, delicious and reflect the Hawke's Bay lifestyle.Just over 100 years ago a young Spanish winemaker set up vineyards and a winery in Hawke's Bay. 100 years later a young Hawke's Bay winemaker spent two years in Spain experiencing the wine, food and culture.That young Hawke's Bay winemaker was me. The locals affectionately called me Tono.

Ant Mackenzie

Ant Mackenzie has more than 20 years of experience as a winemaker, wine marketer and general manager. Beginning in Hawke's Bay at Vidal, by way of Marlborough-working as a winemaker for luminaries such as Framingham, Spy Valley and Mud House-followed by a stint as general manager of Te Awa and Dry River (Hawke's Bay and Martinborough). There have also been vintage and winemaking consultancies overseas including Australia, the USA, Spain and China. As well as the Ant Mackenzie wines, Ant helps other wine companies make better wine through a busy consultancy business. There are current clients in Hawke's Bay, Martinborough and Marlborough.
