SHAW AND SMITH

Shaw & Smith's roots began in 1989 when Martin Shaw and his cousin Michael Hill Smith MW decided to follow their dreams of making wine together. They set out to "make exciting, refined wines exclusively from the Adelaide Hills that rank amongst Australia's best".

Michael Hill Smith MW was the first Australian to pass the Master of Wine examination. Martin Shaw is involved in the wine industry internationally. The current winery was used to spell racehorses in its former life. Shaw & Smith are also committed to environmentally friendly winemaking and the winery provides a benchmark for winery devlopments in the region.
