MARTINI

Martini - the Number One brand of Vermouth in the World. For more than a century the world has enjoyed this distinctive and refreshing Italian beverage. Made from a closely guarded recipe over 150 years ago by Luigi Rossi, a renowned winemaker and herbalist, Martini Vermouth is a careful blend of dry white wine and infused aromatic herbs.

There are three types of Martini Vermouth available in New Zealand - Extra Dry, Bianco and Rosso. The company, in one form or another, has been producing products since 1863 (with a vermouth bottling plant in Pessione, Torin - Italy since the early 1900's). The name Martini & Rossi originated in 1879, when Luigi Rossi and Alessandro Martini were positioned as the remaining directors of the company. In 1922, the company changed its name to Martini, but this name was essentially unavailable in the United States due to the popularity of the Martini cocktail. The company is today owned by Bacardi.
