BLACK RIDGE VINEYARD

Pioneers. Risk takers. Brave. Fighters. These are some of the words that have been used to describe the founders of Black Ridge, the oldest vineyard in Central Otago and one of the southernmost in the world. Wines with a real sense of place are hand crafted from the steep schist vineyards, with aromatics and Pinot Noir being Black Ridge Vineyards specialty.

About the Winemaker

Kevin Clark and Fred Reinds

Kevin and Fred have been making wine at Black Ridge for many years. Not only do they look after the Black Ridge range but they are also the contract wine makers for exclusive brands such as Folding Hills.Both Kevin and Fred have spent many vintages in Burgundy, Alsace and Germany and have brought back their knowledge from these regions which helps shape the wine styles produced at Black Ridge.
