This will be a very special Virtual Tasting. Enjoy some of New Zealand's greatest wines from the comfort of your own lounge. Situated in Hawkes Bay, Church Road is one of our country’s oldest wineries and is renowned for their iconic TOM wines, named after their legendary winemaker Tom McDonald. This year’s release will be presented via ZOOM by their current chief, and two time NZ winemaker of the year Chris Scott. We will be tasting the two new TOM releases, as well as 5 wines from the new premium single vineyard ONE range, previously only available in small quantities at cellar door. We will be tasting: Church Road 1 Tuki Tuki Chardonnay 2018, Church Road 1 Gimblet Gravels Merlot 2016, Church Road 1 Gimblet Gravels Malbec 2017, Church Road 1 Gimblet Gravels Syrah 2017, Church Road 1 Cabernet 2018, Church Road TOM Chardonnay 2019, TOM Merlot Cabernet 2016.

Your ticket includes 50ml sample bottles of all wines. To ensure these samples reach you in safe and optimum condition, we use the Coravin system to check for cork taint, the tasting bottles then filled under a veil of argon gas to minimise contact with air and prevent oxidation. The team will be using applicable protective practises when preparing the samples. They will then be dispatched to you before the tasting on Thursday evening. These are designed for short term storage, not for keeping in your cellar. Details will be included explaining how to set up your computer/phone/iPad to join the tasting, conducted via Zoom. If you cannot join the live tasting, watch the replay at your leisure.
