TAKAPUNA WINE CLUB | AROMATIC APPRECIATION EVENING
Ah Spring, that wonderful time of year where Aucklanders don't know whether to reach for the umbrella or the sunscreen, and looking outside doesn't help with the decision at all. Whether the sun is visible in the sky or not though, it is certainly getting warmer. Winter stews and heavy reds begin to be traded in for seafoods and salads, and wines of an altogether fresher and rather more blonde complexion. A perfect time then for a tasting devoted to the tragically often overlooked varieties of the white wine world. Wines that not only come in a dazzling range of styles, but that also can be so perfectly complementary to our summer Kiwi lifestyle and cuisines. We are talking, of course, about aromatics. From sparkling to sweet to dry, Canterbury to Gisborne to Argentina to Spain, at this tasting we will try them all. Eight wines, eight varieties, one night - don't miss it!
