NORTHERN RHONE VS SOUTHERN RHONE
Tonight we will be looking at some stunning wines from both ends of the Rhone valley in Southern France. Our Fine Wine Manager Regan McCaffery has selected some awesome examples, 5 of which are from the lauded 2007 vintage. This year was famously described by Robert Parker as "a truly historic and profoundly great vintage... maybe the most compelling vintage of any viticultural region I have ever tasted." We will be starting with the iconic Chave Hermitage Blanc 2007, one of the finest white wines in France. Then 3 different 2007 Cote-Rotie to compare these Syarh side by side; Pierre Gaillard, Yves Cuilleron Madinerie, and Rene Rostaing 2007. For our second flight we move to the Southern Rhone and another 2007, the Vin de Vienne Les Oteliees Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2007. Then two more Chateauneuf, these from the incredible 2015 vintage. Bosquet du Pape 2015 and the extremely rare (and stratospherically expensive) Chateau de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin 2015. There was only a single foudre made of this epic bottling, rated one of the greatest Chateauneuf ever produced. We'll finish the night with a gorgeous Domaine de Bernardins Muscat de Beaumes de Venise Hommage. This will really be a night of fabulous wines.
