As a region full of stories and larger than life characters going back centuries, Champagne owes much of it's history, success and renown to it's women. Indeed, while most Champagne houses take their names from the men who founded them, it could in fact be argued that the most well known and influential of all the names in the area belong to powerful and innovative women. For the annual Champagne tasting at our Takapuna store we pay homage to these grand ladies; Lily Bollinger, Jeanne Alexandrine Louise Pommery, Mathilde Emilie Laurent-Perrier, Olga, Chantal and Angeline Lassalle, and of course Madame Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin Clicquot. Only fitting, of course, that Glengarry's own extraordinaire dame de Champagne, our General Manager Liz Wheadon, will be back to present their stories and take us through a tasting of their excellent cuvee.
