Pyramid Valley is one of New Zealand’s greatest wineries, handcrafting beautiful and authentic wines, that breath of their place, and taste like nowhere else on earth. Their unique site of altitude, limestone, slope, rock and rich soil is their Waikari Estate in North Canterbury, home to some of the most profound Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines in the world. The estate is tended entirely biodynamically, and the winemaking follows natural principles with the use of indigenous yeasts, natural fining and minimal, if any, filtration. This tasting will be presented by their incredibly knowledgeable Estate manager and Winemaker Huw Kinch. Huw grew up in the Snowy Mountains and learned his skill in Australia, California, France, and finally New Zealand. Before moving to Waikari, he was head winemaker at Escarpment in Martinborough for ten years. He’ll be concentrating on the latest release of the North Canterbury Range, which provides a more affordable chance to sample what Pyramid Valley is all about. This will be a fabulous tasting.
