Barolo is located in Italy’s northern Piemonte region. The wines of Barolo are made from Nebbiolo, a variety that is not dissimilar in many ways to Pinot Noir; they have a lifted, perfumed bouquet with rose petal and tar characters, and on the palate the acidity is high, as is the tannin.
