CHAMPAGNE BLANC DE NOIRS
Many of us know the French term Blanc de Blancs, most commonly used for a Champagne made from 100% Chardonnay. Blanc de Noirs is much less understood; literally it means "white from blacks", white wine from black grapes, in this case generally 100% Pinot Noir. As you would imagine these are generally robust, full flavoured and powerful wines, perfect for drinking in the middle of winter. Our champagne expert Regan McCaffery will lead us through 8 different wines, with the stories behind the houses and these unusual and complex examples. Expand your understanding of what Champagne can be. We will be tasting: Moutard Grande Cuvee, Serge Mathieu Tradition, Drappier Zero Dosage, Philipponnat Blanc de Noirs 2011, Henri Giraud Code Noir, Mumm RSRV 2008, Tarlant La Vigne d'Or 2003, Tarlant La Vigne Royale 2003.
