VINA AQUITANIA WITH EDUARDO DE SOLMINIHAC - AUCKLAND
Vina Aquitania was one of the first boutique wineries in Chile. Situated at 700m at the foot of the Andes, in Santiago’s Maipo Valley. It was establised in 1990 by Bordeaux luminaries Bruno Prats (Chateau Cos d'Estournel) and Paul Pontallier (Chateau Margaux). They partnered with Felipe de Solminihac, a renowned Chilean agronomist, oenologist and winemaker. In 2002 the fourth Musketeer joined the group, Ghislain de Montgolfier (Champagne Bollinger). With such an incredible team it's no surprise these wines are fantastic and very distinctive. All the vines are ungrafted, with strong intensity, finesse, elegance and soft tannins as the main characteristics. The wines are also extremely well priced for the quality. They will be presented by Felipe's son, their Commercial Director Eduardo de Solminihac. We will be tasting almost everything they make, from their Riserva range; Rosé, Carmenere and their Cabernet Sauvignon. Then from the premium SOL de SOL range, Brut Nature, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and their flagship wine Lazul Cabernet Sauvignon. There is something here for everybody to enjoy.
