GRAND CRU CHAMPAGNE - NEW ARRIVALS
Champagne season is fast approaching, (Isn't that every season?) and we have just landed a new container from our fabulous small family owned producers.
Grower Champagne is where the farmers who grow the grapes, actually makes the wine themselves. Unlike the big houses, each has a very different style, and these wines are full of character. All these Houses are also from Grand Cru Villages, the highest possible level in Champagne.
Combined with the fact these are made in tiny quantities, these are highly sought after by wine lovers and sommeliers around the world.
We will be starting with two vintage Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs from the great Chardonnay villages of the Cotes des Blancs. Lilbert-Fils Cramant 2011 and Andre Jacquart Les Mesnil-sur-Oger 2008. Then we move to the Pinot Noir village of Bouzy in the Montagne de Reims for two Grand Cru wines from the master Paul Bara. Grand Rosé de Bouzy, and his Comtesse Marie de France Blanc de Noirs 2005. For our second flight we take have four stunning new Champagnes from the legendary Henri Giraud, in the Grand Cru village of Aÿ. Dame Jane Rosé NV, Coteaux Champenois Blanc de Blancs, Code Noir Blanc de Noirs, and the new MV10 release of his famous Fut de Chene. Hosted by our Fine Wine manager, and Champagne connoisseur Regan McCaffery.
