BRIGHTWATER

Brightwater Vineyards is the family-owned premium boutique vineyard and winery of Gary and Valley Neale. Situated on the Hope Plains of Nelson, our 100% sustainable vineyards rest at the top of an elevated river terrace. We are 20 minutes west of Nelson - the sunshine capital of New Zealand.

We are committed to our pursuit of making excellent wine without compromise. Our wines have earned a solid reputation with 10 trophies, 35 gold medals and over 60 five star ratings. In 2012 we were awarded the title ''New Zealand Winemaker of the Year'' and were also named as ''Nelson Supreme Business of the Year''. In 2015, our Pinot Noir was awarded the coveted Champion Pinot Noir Trophy at New Zealand's most prestigious wine show, the Air New Zealand Wine Awards.

Now, with over 20 years in the industry, we are probably more passionate about wine than when we began.

Tony Southgate

Tony Southgate has been the winemaker at Brightwater Vineyards since 2004. Prior to that he worked at both Cloudy Bay and Fromm wineries. With Tony in the cellar, Brightwater Vineyards have collected 10 trophies, over 36 gold medals and in 2012 Tony was named as "New Zealand Winemaker of the Year".
